World Food Programme and the GAIN Index: Mozambique

Mozambique_01_BEN_WFP-Robert_MaasIn an executive report from the World Food Programme (page 3), the GAIN Index is used to provide additional information about Mozambique’s food vulnerability.

"Mozambique ranks third among African countries most affected by weather-related hazards: 1) It is the seventh “most vulnerable” and nineteenth “least ready” country in the GAIN Index; 2) Evidence shows that climate change has intensified the magnitude of these hazards; and 3) Mozambique urgently needs both investment and innovations to improve its readiness.”

The Global Adaptation Institute (GAIN) has been flagged to several examples of how the GAIN Index is of value to organizations in the private and public sector for resilience planning and more.
