Jordan ranks as the 56th most resilient of the 176 countries ranked according to their vulnerability to climate impacts as well as their readiness to invest in adaptation. Neighboring Syria, however, ranks 117.
Reducing corruption and conflict and improving political stability are actions many countries in the Middle East can take to improve their GAIN Index ranking and, more importantly, their ability to protect the most vulnerable in the face of adversity.
